Export a conversation
Take a thread out as Markdown, PDF, JSON or CSV.
Any conversation can be exported. This is the per-thread export; for everything in your account at once, see Export your data.
Steps
1. Open Export Conversations from the conversation’s options.
2. Select a format.

|---|---|
| Markdown | Reading and re-editing. The most faithful to how the conversation looked. |
| Sending to someone who should not edit it. | |
| JSON | Feeding another tool. Structure preserved. |
| CSV | Rows and columns — analysis, or bulk review of many messages. |
3. Download it. AODex shows Preparing export…, then Download Export.
If it fails you will see Export failed. Please try again — the export is generated on request, so retrying is usually enough.
What is in the file
The messages and their order, with the participants distinguished. Markdown and PDF are the readable renderings; JSON is the one to use if you need the structure rather than the prose.
Exports are a copy, not a move. Exporting does not delete the conversation or change anything about it.
