Generate and revise a document
Produce a real document from a conversation, then edit it by asking.
The Document button changes what the assistant produces: instead of a chat reply, you get a document, saved to your library and revisable afterwards.
Generating one
1. Turn on Document above the input.

2. Choose a document type, and optionally a template. AODex offers a Template (optional) control alongside the type.
3. Describe what you want. For a document built from the conversation you have just had, say so — Capture the key decisions, findings, and any open questions is the kind of instruction this is built for.
4. Send. You will see Generating document…, then Document generated.
The result lands in Documents.
Revising one
You do not edit generated documents by hand-editing prose in a chat box. Use Revise document…:
- Pick the document — if AODex cannot tell which one you mean, it asks Revise which document? and you paste its ID.
- Give Revision instructions: Describe how you want to revise this document.
- Send. Revising… → Document revised.
Each revision produces a new state of the document rather than a new document, so the thing you shared stays the thing you shared.
Publishing it to a knowledge base
A finished document is often worth keeping as reference material. Publish to KB puts it into a knowledge base, where later conversations can retrieve and cite it. Pick the target with Select a collection.
See Knowledge bases.
Availability
A persona can switch document generation off, in which case the button is not shown.
